Welcome to the Home Page of the Committee on Standards and Privileges. Here you will find information about the Committee membership and the work of the Committee. The Committee Chairperson is Mr Alastair Ross.
The Committee considers matters relating to the conduct of Members, including reports from the Northern Ireland Assembly Commissioner for Standards on investigations into complaints that a breach of the Code of Conduct has occurred.
The Committee is currently carrying out a review of the Code. If you would like to find out more, or make your views known, please follow the link.
As part of its review, the Committee recently visited the United States to meet with those with responsibility for parliamentary ethics in Congress and the General Assembly of Maryland. The Committee has published an account of the various meetings held during the visit.
The Committee on Standards and Privileges will next meet in closed session at 1:30pm on Wednesday 26 November, 2014 in Room 106 Parliament Buildings when it will continue its work on the review of the Code of Conduct.

The Committee is reviewing the Assembly’s Code of Conduct and Guide to the Rules Relating to the Conduct of Members. The Committee made an appeal for your views on the matter. The deadline for submissions passed on 16 May 2014.
