I am writing to confirm that the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission (Assembly Commission) has processed your request dated 13 December 2024 in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). In your request, you asked that the Assembly Commission provide-

"At a DfI committee meeting on 12th June 2024, it was agreed that the Research and Information Service (RaISe) would be commissioned to examine the number of properties or developments in areas identified to be at risk of flooding for which planning permission has been granted in recent years. Please send me a copy of this research paper if it has been completed - or an update on the progress of this research work and the intended publication date. I would also like to receive any data associated with this report in Excel format."

Our response

This information is not held by the Assembly Commission. When the research has been completed, it will be published on the Northern Ireland Assembly website on both the Research and Information Service page for and also the page for the Committee for Infrastructure. In terms of the data being used to conduct the research, our Research and Information Service will be using the Northern Ireland Department for Infrastructure planning statistics.
