1. WELCOME
The Chair welcomed Members of the CPA NI Executive Branch to the meeting.
2. APOLOGIES
Apologies were received from Michelle McIlveen and Mervyn Storey.
3. JIM WELLS MLA, CPA CLIMATE CHANGE FORUM
Mr Wells discussed his attendance at the CPA Climate Change Forum with Members. He advised them that 60 different nations had attended the forum and that he found it extremely worthwhile. He stated that the overall message from the forum was that climate change must be taken seriously and that urgent action is required from countries throughout the world to combat it.
Mr Wells’ blog on the forum is available on the Assembly’s CPA web page.
4. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes were agreed.
5. MARKETING STRATEGY
The Chair advised that CPA pop-up stand mock up with the Union Jack and Commonwealth flags has been completed and approved. The pop-up will be ready to use at the BIMR Conference.
6. PARTNER COUNTRIES
The Chair advised that a date for the first meeting with CPA Gibraltar has been requested and that we are waiting for a response.
7. BIMR CONFERENCE UPDATE
The Deputy Secretary discussed the various draft programmes with Members including those with restrictions and without. She also discussed the budget. Members were content with the programmes and the budget.
The Deputy Secretary advised that four Members had applied to be part of the NI Assembly conference delegation. The Members approved the four applications.
The Deputy Secretary asked Members to send through guest list suggestions for the two conference dinners
It was agreed that and informal meeting of the Executive Committee will be held before summer recess to discuss conference plans and deadlines.
8. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
There was no other business.
9. DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
The informal conference meeting will take place on Tuesday 6th July.
The next meeting will take place on Tuesday 7th September.
