Standing Orders of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
1. Standing Orders detail the procedures which regulate the way the Northern Ireland Assembly carries out its business. At present there are 78 Standing Orders and they range from detailing the times the Assembly may sit to the rules concerning establishment of committees to assist the Assembly.
2. Under section 41 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, Standing Orders shall not be made, amended or repealed without cross-community support from members.
