Olympic Torch Relay

The Olympic Torch Relay, which began on Saturday 19 May at Land’s End, will arrive at Parliament Buildings and Stormont Estate on Sunday 3 June at 8.44am.

The Torch will be carried along Prince of Wales Avenue and arrive at the front steps of Parliament Buildings at 8.54am.

The Torch will be welcomed to Parliament Buildings by the Minister for Culture, Arts and Leisure, Carál Ní Chuilín MLA.

Several groups which have been awarded the London 2012 Inspire mark will be on the front lawns and will be demonstrating their skills. These groups include the Cheetahs which promotes fun sporting activities with local schoolchildren, Ocean Youth Trust Ireland promoting their try sailing activities, the Irish Football Association with a football match display, the North West 200 which will promote their activities and Northern Ireland Fencing which will provide a demonstration and taster sessions.

Media will not require accreditation to cover the Relay. There is an opportunity to get a place in the Media Truck, which is part of the Relay convoy. If you are interested in being on the Media Truck, please download the form from the London 2012 website (DOCX).

Vehicular access to Stormont Estate is via Stoney Road (8.00am-10.00am) and parking will be available in the Visitors Car Park.
