Limited Electrical Supply To Parliament Buildings

Parliament Buildings has been affected by the recent flooding and as a result power supply to the building is very limited.  However, plenary business will continue as usual next week (Monday 02 July and Tuesday 03 July).

The following facilities will be affected:

Press room

There will be one monitor providing live feed from the Assembly Chamber.  No electrical power sockets will be available to use in the press room.  There will be no facility for recording live signals in the press room. Please ensure laptops and any other portable devices are fully charged in advance.  The Assembly press wireless network will be available as usual.

Access to Assembly Broadcasting signal

The lawn box feeds at the front of Parliament Buildings is the only area from which a live feed will be available.  Access to the lawn feeds must be coordinated through Assembly Broadcasting.  There will be no electrical power at the lawn boxes so any news vehicles will need an independent power supply.

Great Hall press facilities

The press conference facility in the Great Hall will be available to ENG camera crews and journalists operating on battery. 

The soundbox in the Great Hall can be accessed as usual, however no power outlets can be used. 

News crews requiring lighting must provide PAG lighting on camera tops.

Website

The Assembly website will be updated regularly and will function as normal. You can watch the live stream online via http://nia1.me/12.

Catering

A restricted canteen service will be in operation.  There will be a limited hot food service in the Blue Flax Restaurant only.  A selection of cold food will be available along with tea, coffee and cold drinks.

It is highly likely that there will be a reduction in the provision of services and it is a changing situation. Your full cooperation and support is appreciated at this time.
