Assembly Launches New Online Programme

The Northern Ireland Assembly will launch its web-based programme Assembly Extra on Monday 26 March 2012. The programme will be available to view via the Assembly website http://nia1.me/extra from 8.00am on Monday.

The programme will show a different side to the Assembly - it’s not about political discussion and analysis - instead it takes viewers behind the scenes to give an insight into the workings of the Assembly.  Each programme is about ten minutes long and will include a mix of informative features, interviews and behind-the-scenes pieces. 

In programme one, we go behind the scenes with Assembly Broadcasting as they go live on air for the first Plenary session following the election, we also hear from our Education Service to find out what school groups can expect from a visit to Parliament Buildings; plus we find out how a Bill becomes law.
