Committee on Procedures
Welcome to the Home Page of the Committee on Procedures. This Committee has been established to consider and review on an ongoing basis the Standing Orders and procedures of the Assembly. The Committee Chairperson is Mr Gerry Kelly.
The Committee on Procedures will hold its next meeting on Tuesday 23 June 2015 at 1:00pm in Room 21, Parliament Buildings. In public session the Committee will continue its inquiry into the extent to which Standing Orders should permit the Attorney General to participate in proceedings of the Assembly, and its review of the public petitions procedures. The Committee will also consider the issue of female representation within the Speaker’s team, continue its review of Standing Order 65 relating to Good Order and commence a review of the time allocated for Topical Questions.

Review of the Public Petitions Procedures
The Northern Ireland Assembly Committee on Procedures is undertaking a Review of the Public Petitions Procedures in the Northern Ireland Assembly. The aim of the review is to examine the effectiveness of current procedures and to consider if a revised system of public petitions should be introduced to the Assembly.
