Welcome to the Home Page of the Committee for Health, Social Services and Public Safety. The Committee was established to advise and assist the Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Jim Wells MLA, on matters within his responsibility as a Minister. The Committee undertakes a scrutiny, policy development and consultation role with respect to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety and plays a key role in the consideration and development of legislation. The Committee Chairperson is Ms Maeve McLaughlin .

The Committee for Health, Social Services and Public Safety will hold its next meeting on Monday 26 January at 12 noon in room 30 to consider SR 2014/293: The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (Membership, Procedure, Functions and Committee) (Amendment No.2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014.

The Committee will meet again on Wednesday 28 January 2015 at 2.00pm in the Senate Chamber, Parliament Buildings when the Committee will be briefed by Sir Liam Donaldson and department officials on the expert examination of HSC governance arrangements. The Committee will also consider the terms of reference for its review of workforce planning in the context of Transforming Your Care.
