FOI 49-22: Payments from the Northern Ireland Assembly to Stonewall

Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“FOIA”)

I am writing to confirm that the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission (Assembly Commission) has processed your request dated 21 September 2022 in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In your request, you asked:

 

“Please provide the following information:

  • What was the membership fee given to Stonewall as part of their Diversity Champions programme in 2021-22 by your organisation?
  • Is your organisation currently a member of Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme?
  • What additional monies have been given to Stonewall in 2021-22? Specifically, this incorporates:
    • Events/conferences (where, for example, your organisation has purchased tickets to attend or entered raffles or auctions organised by Stonewall). Please name any events/conferences that your organisation attended and the date attended.
    • Other programmes (such as LG?? Leadership programme, LG?? Role Model programme, Ally and/or Trans Ally programmes, as well as Train the Trainer programmes).”

 

What was the membership fee given to Stonewall as part of their Diversity Champions programme in 2021-22 by your organisation?

A payment of £2,500 was made to Stonewall Equality Limited in March 2021 formembership fees of the Diversity Champions Programme. Membership feescovered the period 16 January 2021 to 15 January 2022. Membership of theDiversity Champions Programme was not renewed on 16 January 2022.  

 

Is your organisation currently a member of Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme?

The Assembly Commission is not currently a member of the Stonewall Diversity Champions Programme.

 

What additional monies have been given to Stonewall in 2021-22?

No additionalmonies were paid to Stonewall Equality Limited from the Assembly Commission in 2021-22.

You have the right to request a formal review by the Assembly Commission and if you wish to do so, please write to me at the above address. If after such an internal review you are still unhappy with the response, you may appeal to the Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF which will undertake an independent review.

The Assembly Commission may publish details of your FOI request and its official response within the organisational disclosure log. The request will be completely anonymised and you will not be identified in any way. This is to meet the requirements as laid out by in the agreed publication scheme with the Information Commissioners’ Office.
