1. CLERK TO THE ASSEMBLY - SELECTION PROCEDURE

1.1 The selection panel signed off the interview assessment criteria form having agreed:

. weightings for each criterion;

. the overall pass mark and the individual criterion which will carry a minimum standard; and

. the duration of each interview.

1.2 The panel also agreed that the information from the psychological assessment should be applied consistently to the selection process.

2. PRE-APPOINTMENT INTEGRITY CHECKS

2.1 The Speaker outlined the background to a paper setting out proposed integrity check procedures to be carried out as part of the pre-appointment process. Members agreed that criminal record checks should be carried out for all appointments with financial history checks for specified posts. Members agreed to give further consideration to the draft integrity questionnaire.

3. ANY OTHER BUSINESS

3.1 Members agreed to accept the Ulster Museum's offer to display the work of local artists in the Long Gallery.

3.2 The Commission approved a request from the Minister of Health and Social Services and Public Safety to hold a reception in Parliament Buildings for two hundred representatives from health agencies throughout Europe on 22 October 2000.

3.3 The Commission agreed to revise the opening times at the East and West doors from 6.45 am to 7.30 am.

3.4 Mr Evans to arrange for Commission Members to visit Ormiston House, the vacant commercial premises at the Massey Avenue gates and Annex C in the Stormont Estate.

3.5 The Commission approved the following dates:

. Remembrance Day Service, 10 November; and
. Christmas Carol Service, 15 December.

4. DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING

Wednesday 20 September 2000; 10.30 am - lunchtime sift meeting for the Clerk to the Assembly post, lunchtime - 4.00 pm, business meeting.
