by: Assembly Round Up

The Assembly Committee for the Environment held a special stakeholder event today to hear people’s concerns about plans to regulate taxis in Northern Ireland.

Many organisations have been in touch with the Committee concerned about plans set out by the Department for the Environment so the Committee decided to bring people together to discuss the issues, and have the Department respond.

A range of stakeholders attended the event including representatives from Public Hire Coalition, Private Hire companies, Taxi Federation NI, Disability Action and the Consumer Council.

Listen to our interview with the Committee Chair Anna Lo, MLA who was asked why the Committee decided to hold this event and what they intend to do next.

Below are some pictures from the event.
