Mental Health Project debuts at Parliament Buildings

Two Assembly Committees came together today to support the launch of Health in Mind – a new project designed to improve the quality of life of people affected by mental health, increase understanding of and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.

Michelle McIlveen (Chair of the Culture, Arts & Leisure Committee) and Michelle Gildernew (Chair of the Health Committee)Michelle McIlveen (Chair of the Culture, Arts & Leisure Committee) and Michelle Gildernew (Chair of the Health Committee) both lent their support and spoke at the project’s launch today.

The lead partner in the project, Libraries NI, is working closely with 4 leading mental health charities, AWARE, Action Mental Health, CAUSE and MINDWISE to raise awareness of the project through Information, Reading and Learning.

The project will be delivered in library and community venues all across Northern Ireland, and looks to make a particular impact in disadvantaged areas.
