Assembly Marks Five Years of Bursary Programme

The Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Mr William Hay MLA today hosted a reception in Parliament Buildings to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Assembly’s Bursary programme. Organised in conjunction with Queen’s University, the post-graduate programme leads to a Masters in Legislative Studies and Practice and has provided 33 bursaries since its launch five years ago.

Speaker Marks the Arrival of the Giro d’Italia

The Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Mr William Hay MLA, launched an exhibition in Parliament Buildings entitled “The Art of Cycling” by local artist Deepa Mann-Kler. The exhibition celebrates the industrial heritage of Belfast alongside the arrival of the Giro d’Italia and incorporates iconic Belfast landmarks which will be seen along the route of the Giro d’Italia.

Speaker Hosts Lecture on the Dublin Lock-out

The Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Mr William Hay MLA, hosted an event in Parliament Buildings this evening as part of the 'Perspectives On…' series agreed by the Assembly Commission to mark a decade of centenaries. The lecture - entitled 'Perspectives on the Dublin Lock-out and the Rise of the Labour Movement' - was delivered by Dr Emmet O’Connor, senior lecturer in history at the University of Ulster.
