Welcome to the Home Page of the Committee for Health, Social Services and Public Safety. The Committee was established to advise and assist the Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Edwin Poots MLA, on matters within his responsibility as a Minister. The Committee undertakes a scrutiny, policy development and consultation role with respect to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety and plays a key role in the consideration and development of legislation. The Committee Chairperson is Ms Michelle Gildernew.

The Health Committee will hold its meeting on Wednesday 16 May at 2.00pm when Members will receive a briefing from Assembly Research on Emergency Care (A&E).
The Committee will take evidence from the Department of Health on the Acute Services Budget.
Members will also hear evidence from the Department and the HSC Board on the use of external consultants in implementing Transforming Your Care.
