Welcome to the Home Page of the Committee for Finance and Personnel. The Committee was established to advise and assist the Minister of Finance and Personnel, Mr Sammy Wilson MP MLA, on matters within his responsibility as a Minister. The Committee undertakes a scrutiny, policy development and consultation role with respect to the Department of Finance and Personnel and plays a key role in the consideration and development of legislation. The Committee Chairperson is Mr Conor Murphy.

The Finance and Personnel Committee will meet on 10.00am on Wednesday 23 May when, in closed session, Members will formally consider its draft discussion paper on Maximising the Assembly’s Contribution to the NI Budget Process.

The meeting will move into public session when the Committee will hear evidence from the Department on the NICS equal pay settlement and on Land Law Proposals. Members will also receive a briefing on a proposal for subordinate legislation from Departmental officials, and discuss the Superannuation Bill and a forthcoming Legislative Consent Motion on the supply of information from HM Revenue and Customs for rates purposes.

Superannuation Bill Call for Evidence

The Superannuation Bill was formally introduced to the Northern Ireland Assembly on 12 March 2012 and received its Second Reading on 26 March 2012. The Bill has now been referred to the Committee for Finance and Personnel which has responsibility for the Committee Stage of the Bill.

The Committee therefore wishes to hear views from all interested parties in order to assist it with the scrutiny of the Bill. Click the link above for further information.
