Employment and Learning

The Employment and Learning Committee will meet at 10am on Wednesday 22 May when it will receive a briefing from the Departments of Finance & Personnel and Employment & Learning on NISRA quarterly labour market statistics.

The Committee will also receive briefings from Momentum on its recently launched manifesto outlining a strategy for growing the digital sector in NI over the next 5 years and Summitskills Sector Skills Council for Mechanical and Electrical Sector on the Review of Apprenticeships.

The Committee will also discuss the Statutory Rule 2013/128.

Members of the Committee for Employment and Learning held a breakfast meeting with local businesses on Wednesday 23 January 2013 South West College, Enniskillen campus. Members of the Committee for Employment and Learning recently took part in a study visit to Geneva, Switzerland from the 4 to the 7 March 2013. Members were accompanied on the visit by local academics from Northern Ireland including the University of Ulster, the Open University, Colleges NI (representing Northern Ireland’s Regional Colleges) and the Institute of Physics, Ireland. The delegation visited the University of Geneva, The International Labour Organisation and the CERN Institute.
